Few Brazil banks need capital for Basel III-c.bank Mar 21st 2012, 18:34 BRASILIA, March 21 | Wed Mar 21, 2012 2:34pm EDT BRASILIA, March 21 (Reuters) - Many Brazilian banks will be able to meet Basel III regulatory requirements by retaining profits, without having to raise new capital, Brazil's central bank director Anthero Meirelles said on Wednesday. His comments followed the release of a central bank report saying Brazil's banks have enough capital to withstand an escalation in global market turmoil.
