MEXICO CITY | Tue Dec 11, 2012 1:05pm EST

MEXICO CITY Dec 11 (Reuters) - The Mexican peso on Tuesday firmed sharply to more than a two month high, tracking gains in the euro after data showed a rise in German economic sentiment in December.

The peso gained 0.51 percent to trade at 12.744 per dollar, its strongest since early October, also helped by expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve could signal more aggressive monetary easing this week.
