NEW YORK, July 31 (Reuters) - The euro extended gains versus the dollar to hit a session high in early trade on Tuesday as risk appetite increased on expectations the European Central Bank may take new measures to contain the debt crisis.
The euro climbed as high as $1.2314 and was last up 0.4 percent at $1.2306.
